Introduction

The objective of this project is to develop a simple and inexpensive home automation network with discrete elements, available to any person without specialized knowledge, to automate from a house to a building complex, which functions independently and provide alternative free energy, with light the whole house with LED diodes.

Features of the microHomeLan network for home automation

  • Network based on RS-485 standard.
  • Communication 8-bit asynchronous UART.
  • Easy plam Protocol developed by the author.
  • Protocol with collision detection and verification of transmissions.
  • Communication speed of 19200 bits per second.
  • Maximum working distance of 1200 meters (RS-845 standard).
  • BUS Network topology.
  • Up to 32 units uHomeLan (by Bus home automation).
  • Up to 253 units network uHomeLan, with expansion switch.
  • Address programmable network-based units uHomeLan 1-254.
  • Network cable 4-pair UTP 22 AWG Standard.
  • Standard RJ-45 connectors.
  • 24V low power supply voltage.
  • Power through the network cable (Power over lan).
  • Developed Firmware for AVR-8 and MCS-51 microcontrollers.
  • Distributed programming  in all units or central home automation uHomeLan.
  • Direct programming through the network.
  • PC Software for control and programming.
  • Intuitive software for program development through the Web-site http://www.microhomelan.net.
  • Units uHomeLan or central home automation modules, divided into motherboard, cpu controller and regulators.
  • PCB, printed circuit boards developed on one side, to facilitate construction and minimize the cost.
